Before I joined ContactOne Professional Services, I was an administrative assistant performing routine tasks and was looking out to broaden my horizon in my career. I was introduced by my schoolmate to ContactOne in 2010.
In the initial months the learning curve was steep but my bosses patiently guided me along the way, allowing me to pick up invaluable pointers from them. I felt enriched and empowered as I picked up many soft skills including client servicing, handling client disputes and building rapport with both our clients and our internal staff. On top of that, I am now equipped with knowledge relating to company incorporation, corporate administration and various business regulatory aspects influencing the Singapore entrepreneurial arena.
The company has facilitated me immensely in my academic pursues as I completed a diploma and degree course during the initial years of my employment. Full support was given by the management of ContactOne for me to advance my studies and arrangements were made to ensure that my exams were not compromised due to work commitments.
My fellow colleagues and bosses are always helpful towards each other, and the family-feel of the working environment makes working in ContactOne all the more enjoyable.
I joined ContactOne Professional Services in 2013 and I am delighted that I have taken this decision then.
My role in ContactOne relates to the preparation of full sets of accounts for start-ups and small medium enterprises. The primary task sounds daunting but I have come to realize that with proper guidance from my supervisor, I am able to effectively and efficiently perform my tasks. The increase in exposure towards different types of business and accounting is a departure from the traditional routine aspect of performing only AP or AR or even full set for a single company. My role has allowed me to further appreciate the how important accounting is to a business.
I was able to seamlessly transit into my role as the work flow is largely automated and systematic, giving my more time to assist my clients by looking at the bigger picture instead of focusing solely on numbers generation.
The long hours synonymous with an accounting role is dispelled here in ContactOne as we usually finish our tasks within the standard working hours. Work Life Balance is indeed achievable for an accounting staff in ContactOne.
